Each new home design is an undertaking of passion, insight and a listening ear. The design process begins by listening to the unique vision of each new client. Close atention is paid to individual needs and wishes. Enough guidance is given to consider possibilities amd alternatives. Enough experience is relied upon to guide the design in terms of cost parameters.

The actual process usually begins with a consultation with Phillip Bjork in his office/design studio. This meeting of minds generally lasts from one to two hours including a tour of the shop facilities. Potential clients can see first hand the hands on approach this company takes in guiding the design / build process. That hands on approach lasts all the way through the building process until the homes completion. The meeting normally results in an agreement for Phil Bjork to provide a preliminary plan and elevation rendering based on the clients taste, site location and budget.

This preliminary plan stage offers a careful study of the expected finish cost and an agreement of the overall design. At this point the timberframe and enclosure package contract is presented as part of the overall cost. Final working drawings depend on how many pages are needed and how much detail must be provided to insure building code requirements and accurate material/subcontractor cost.

Throughout the entire process, Phil Bjork is available to answer any question, to act as a liason between the homeowner and subcontractors and to focus individuals on the intent of the design.

Our office and design studio offers clients a first had look at the timber sizes, arrangements, and feel. We generate all our architectural designs and shop drawings with the use of CAD.
