The shop complex is designed for linear movement both in and out of the seperate facilities. Far to the left is a wood fired boiler that provides in-floor heat to all the buildings. All scrap wood is then burned to provide winter heat.
The cutting shop is efficiently laid out for material handling utilizing overhead cranes and railroad carts on track. Occasionally major components are pre-assembled such as this parallel chord truss. Timbers are generally worked on with portable hand tools rather than fed through a machine.
This timber storage building has held up to 180,000 bd ft of material for seasoning purposes. Most of our work uses White Pine that comes from Minnesota and Wisconsin. Seasoning the timber for two to five years is a good way to increase stability.
Our dedicated finish shop allows us to apply a two coat sealer finish on all timbers and vaulted ceiling material in a climate controlled condition. After finish coats are applied the timbers are banded and wrapped ready for shipment.
